Melissa Benerofe is an associate in Cohen & Gresser’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration and White Collar Defense & Regulation practice groups.  She has experience representing clients in high-stakes class action and commercial disputes, including litigation involving alleged manipulation of financial benchmarks, and in regulatory investigations.

Melissa’s experience includes drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, including complaints, answers, motions to dismiss, motions for preliminary injunctions, and motions for summary judgment, and managing all aspects of discovery, including preparing responses and objections to discovery requests, document productions, and subpoenas.

Before joining Cohen & Gresser, Melissa was a litigation associate at Milbank LLP. She also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Cathy Seibel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Melissa received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, where she was an associate editor of the Fordham Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. She earned her B.A. in political science from Johns Hopkins University.
