Simplification of the Organization of General Meetings of Listed Companies

In this article for Finascope, Muriel Goldberg-Darmon, Guillaume Guérin, and Pierre Wolman present decree n°2026-94 of 13 February 2026, which aims to simplify the organization of general meetings of listed companies in France. They emphasize that this text has significant practical implications for such companies, notably by bringing forward the date on which shareholders must hold their shares in their accounts in order to participate in and vote at the general meeting (the “record date”), as well as by systematically promoting the use of digital media in relations between the company and its shareholders.
